Saiyidah graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Multimedia University in November 2011. She then read and completed her pupillage under the tutelage of past President of Selangor Bar, Ravichandran Supramaniam at Messrs Seah Balan Ravi & Co and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2012. She then practiced at Messrs Mishant & Co for a period of close to 5 years in the area of Criminal Litigation and Family Law. Yearning to be a dual practitioner, in 2017, Saiyidah joined Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina and was part of the inheritance and succession team under the guidance of Farah Deba Mohamed Sofian where she started specialisation in syariah family and estate related matters. To complete the circle, in August 2020, Saiyidah was called to the Syariah Court of Wilayah Persekutuan (Labuan & Putrajaya).

Some of the areas of practice that Saiyidah is involved in include:

  • Advisory and drafting of multi jurisdiction Wills, Deeds of Trust and other estate planning instruments
  • Negotiation and advisory for Trust Companies and their clients
  • Advising on applications under Malay Reservation Enactment
  • Faraid certificate applications
  • Representing divorcing spouse in harta sepencarian claims
  • Attending to divorce matters including endorsement of divorce
  • Obtaining guardianship order
  • Vesting order for estate distribution matters

One of the reported cases under her belt is Profil Saujana (M) Sdn Bhd v
Azabar Holdings [2015] 4 MLJ 809.

Saiyidah also finds time to serve the Malaysian Bar in areas she is passionate about, namely human rights and sports. She is a member of the Malaysian Bar Women’s Rights Committee, Syariah Law Committee and the Sports Committee. She served the Selangor Bar as their convener and captain of Ladies Futsal for 4 years. She has for the past 7 years represented the Malaysian Bar Ladies Football team at the Annual Bar Games with Singapore and is now the vice-captain of the team.
